A batch of Chinese standard infrastructure projects landed overseas
Aug 09, 2022
Since the beginning of this year, with the goal of high standards, sustainability and people’s livelihood, a number of infrastructure projects built with Chinese standards have been launched overseas, becoming the landmark projects of high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road”. At present, the overall progress of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway project has reached more than 80%, and the passenger and freight transportation of the China-Laos railway has also broken a number of data records.
On August 5, the Chinese standard high-speed EMU and comprehensive inspection train tailored for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway were successfully rolled off the assembly line. After completing the relevant preparations, it is expected to be shipped to Indonesia in the middle of this month. In Indonesia, high-speed rail construction is also in full swing. During the construction of the No. 10 tunnel in the Bandung section, technicians found that the soil quality in the tunnel was poor and large-scale mechanized operations could not be carried out.
In addition, the No. 10 tunnel crosses the ordinary train tracks from Jakarta to Bandung in Indonesia, and 26 trains pass through every day. During the construction period, the project should not interfere with the normal operation of the civil railway. To this end, the construction unit adopts real-time monitoring of the train's trajectory to ensure construction safety.
A number of data on the China-Laos Railway has been refreshed after 8 months of opening. Up to now, the China-Laos railway connecting Kunming, Yunnan and Vientiane, Laos has been in operation for 8 months, and a total of 5.54 million passengers have been sent, including 4.84 million passengers on the domestic section and 700,000 passengers on the Laos section. After entering the summer transportation in July, the China-Laos railway sent 1.45 million passengers in a single month, reaching a record high. In addition, the China-Laos Railway has sent a total of 6 million tons of goods, including 1.06 million tons of cross-border goods.
At present, 21 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China have successively operated cross-border freight trains on the China-Laos Railway, and freight transportation has covered Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore and other countries and regions. China-Laos railway international freight transport has increased from 1 pair per day at the beginning of the opening to 5 to 6 pairs per day now.
